【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesinformationonapparatus,safety,pre-testpreparation,andproceduresforconductingfieldtestsofpolyethylenepressurepipingsystemsbyfillingwithaliquidandapplyingpressuretodetermineifleaksexistinthesystem.Thispracticedoesnotaddressleaktestingusingapressurizedgas(pneumatictesting).Forsafetyreasons,somemanufacturersprohibitorrestrictpneumaticpressuretestingoftheirproducts.Failureduringapressureleaktestcanbeexplosive,violent,anddangerous,especiallyifacompressedgasisused.Inacompressedgastest,boththepressurestressonthesystemandtheenergyusedtocompressthegasarereleasedatafailure.Contactcomponentmanufacturersforinformationabouttestingwithgasunderpressure.Thispracticedoesnotapplytoleaktestingofnon-pressure,gravity-flow,negativepressure(vacuum),ornon-thermoplasticpipingsystems.Forfield-testingofplasticgravityflowsewerlines,seeTestMethodF1417.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitswhichareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AdditionalsafetyinformationispresentedinSectionandthroughoutthisstandard.

【摘要】:ThispartofISO10993providesguidanceongeneralrequirementsforthedesignoftestsforidentifyingandquantifyingdegradationproductsfromfinishedpolymericmedicaldevicesreadyforclinicaluse.ThispartofISO10993describestwotestmethodstogeneratedegradationproducts,anaccelerateddegradationtestasascreeningmethodandareal-timedegradationtest.Formaterialswhichareintendedtopolymerizeinsitu,thesetorcuredpolymerisusedfortesting.Thedatageneratedareusedinthebiologicalevaluationofthepolymer.ThispartofISO10993considersonlythosedegradationproductsgeneratedbyachemicalalterationofthefinishedpolymericdevice.Itisnotapplicabletodegradationofthedeviceinducedduringitsintendedusebymechanicalstress,wearorelectromagneticradiation.ThebiologicalactivityofthedebrisandsolubledegradationproductsisnotaddressedinthispartofISO10993,butshouldbeevaluatedaccordingtotheprinciplesofISO10993-1andISO14538.Becauseofthewiderangeofpolymericmaterialsusedinmedicaldevices,nospecificanalyticaltechniquesareidentifiedorgivenpreference.NospecificrequirementsforacceptablelevelsofdegradationproductsareprovidedinthispartofISO10993.
