【摘要】:ReflectssubstantiverevisionsbasedontheinitialCanvassreview.Whiletherevisionsareconsideredsubstantive,theydonotalterthebasicscopeandintentofthestandard.ThisstandardincludesGELPPsrelatedtolivestockproductionareasatanimalfeedingoperations(AFO).Thestandardwasdevelopedtoaddressspecificenvironmentalchallengeswithinlivestockproductionareasofthelivestockindustry.Thisstandardincludesrequirementsthatarebasedonbestmanagementpracticesdevelopedbyindustry,government,anduniversityexperts.Operationsthatadheretothisstandardwillreducetheriskofadverseenvironmentalandodorincidentsresultingfromtheiractivities.Thestandardappliestoalltypesofconcentratedlivestockoperationsincludingbutnotlimitedtohogs,beefcattle,dairy,meatbirds,andegglayers.Thisstandardisapplicabletoanylivestockoperationthatplansto:1)minimizeitspotentialtogeneratenegativeenvironmentalimpacts;2)demonstrategoodenvironmentalstewardship;and3)improverelationshipswithallpartiesdirectlyorindirectlyaffectedbytheoperation.Thisstandardwaslistedforpublicreviewinthe7/13/2001issueofStandardsAction.Itisbeingresubmittedduetosubstantivechangestothetext.
