【摘要】:Carbonblackisaddedtomanypolymerstoprovidelong-termresistancetoultraviolet-induceddegradation.Toachievethis,carbonblackshouldbedisperseduniformlythroughouttheas-manufacturedgeosyntheticmaterial.Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatetheuniformityofcarbonblackdispersion.Thistestmethodissuitableonlyforthosegeosyntheticsthatcanbesampledusingarotaryorsledgemicrotome.Thegeometry,stiffness(hardness),orelasticityofsomegeosyntheticproductsprecludestheirbeingsampledwithamicro-tome.Thecross-sectionalareaofthegeosyntheticmustbecomposedofacontinuoussolidpolyolefinmaterialtobesampledusingamicrotome.Extrudedandorientedgeogridswillrequirethatmicrotomespecimensbecutfromthenonorientedbarsofuniaxialproductsandthenon-orientednodesofbiaxialproducts.1.1Thistestmethodcoversequipment,specimenpreparationtechniques,andproceduresforevaluatingthedispersionofcarbonblackinpolyolefingeosyntheticscontaininglessthan5%carbonblackbyweight.1.2Thistestmethodallowsforaqualitativeevaluationofcarbonblackagglomeratesandotherinclusionsinpolyolefingeosynthetics.Thisevaluationisbasedoncarbonblackdispersionsizecalculatedareawithinmicroscopicfieldsofview.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;Thistestmethodisfortheevaluationofcarbonblackdispersion.Thistestmethoddoesnotsupportorevaluatethedistributionofcarbonblack.
