【摘要】:Sincethesettingofconcreteisagradualprocess,anydefinitionoftimeofsettingmustnecessarilybearbitrary.Inthistestmethod,thetimesrequiredforthemortartoreachspecifiedvaluesofresistancetopenetrationareusedtodefinetimesofsetting.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetheeffectsofvariables,suchaswatercontent;brand,typeandamountofcementitiousmaterial;oradmixtures,uponthetimeofsettingofconcrete.Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedtodeterminecompliancewithspecifiedtime-of-settingrequirements.Thistestmethodmayalsobeappliedtopreparedmortarsandgrouts.However,whenthesettingtimeofconcreteisdesired,thetestshallbeperformedonmortarsievedfromtheconcretemixtureandnotonapreparedmortarintendedtosimulatethemortarfractionoftheconcrete;ithasbeenshownthattheinitialandfinalsettingtimesmaybeincreasedwhenusingthepreparedmortar.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetimeofsettingofconcrete,withslumpgreaterthanzero,bymeansofpenetrationresistancemeasurementsonmortarsievedfromtheconcretemixture.1.2Thistestmethodissuitableforuseonlywhentestsofthemortarfractionwillprovidetheinformationrequired.1.3Thistestmethodmayalsobeappliedtopreparedmortarsandgrouts.1.4Thistestmethodisapplicableundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions,aswellasunderfieldconditions.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
